astridandlouise 's review for:
The Great Gatsby
by F. Scott Fitzgerald
i read this book as part of my english course during high school and studied it in depth. because i was only young i doubt i fully understood the importance this book has in literary history and why it is revered so much, but perhaps given the chance to read again i would probably understand why and may even like it.
2013 REVIEW:
well I actually enjoyed this much more than I remember enjoying it in English class those 10 or so years ago... I took a lot more of it in & thoroughly enjoyed Fitzgerald's writing. They say its the epitome of the American dream & in ways it is but I wouldn't say it's the book that's the epitome of the American dream. Perhaps the first one that portrayed it in a way that people could relate to or it was the first book of its kind to even address the american dream in the way that Fitzgerald did.
