I received this book from Goodreads Giveaways in exchange for a review here and on my blog Samwise Reviews. I tried, but unfortunately I could not connect with this book. I found it really distracting that the focus shifted between sisters each chapter and I found it hard to keep them separate. It also felt like there were a lot of racial and social issues tossed in without much introduction or flow, and overall this did not read like a fantasy novel. There were a number of different mythological creatures involved but I never felt like we really got to know any of them, or any of the humans. This book had a lot of potential, but in the end it just wasn't for me.
