Assumption
by Aurora Rose Reynolds
I have been curious about Kenton Mayson since he was part of the "Until" series, and was very excited to get to his story in the new "Underground Kings" series.
Kenton has always been a bit of an enigma. What does he do for a job really? Why such mystery about it/ In his story we get right down to it and so much more.
Gotta say, Kenton is a right d*&K when we first meet him, forms his opinion and runs with it. Gah!
Autumn was a girl in the wrong place at the wrong time and witnessed a horrible crime, and has been sent across the country for her safety. I love Autumn. She is smart, funny, tough as nails and takes no crap from nobody. When Kenton makes his assumptions about her, she gives him a big "eff you" and walks away. I LOVED how she teased him about his assumptions and threw them back in his face - which he damn well deserved.
I love how both Kenton and Autumn work about getting past those assumptions to the real story about each other. Loved reading as they questioned and found out more about each other.
One thing these two were never lacking was sexual chemistry. Hoooeeee it is hot! Even when they didn't like each other they wanted each other. And as the reader you just wanted them to get together, knowing things would be explosive.
Assumption was told from dual POV's though mostly Autumns. I loved when we got into Kenton's mind though. As much as he was a d*&k to begin with, you can't help but love him. He is sweet, sexy, smoking hot and protective of those he loves (at times probably to the extent of being stifling? I know IRL I couldn't handle it!)
I loved that we got sneak peeks back into the lives of the Mayson boys from the "Until" series, and gotta say I love love LOVED Kenton's aunt and mum. In fact all the family just cracks me up. But these two ladies are just fantastic.
Ms Reynolds had me for this series at the end of Until Nico. And she did not disappoint. Now I am impatiently waiting for book 2, Obligation (Kai's book)
