The Murder Rule
by Dervla McTiernan
I love when I find a book that I can binge listen to and this grabbed me fast and kept my attention throughout the day I spent listening. One of my favorites, Sophie Amoss narrates so that made it even better for me too.
Synopsis: First Rule: Make them like you.
Second Rule: Make them need you.
Third Rule: Make them pay.
They think I’m a young, idealistic law student, that I’m passionate about reforming a corrupt and brutal system.
They think I’m working hard to impress them.
They think I’m here to save an innocent man on death row.
They're wrong. I’m going to bury him.
I loved that this was a mix between a con artist plot and a legal thriller with a dash of fast paced thrills. I’m not sure I’ve ever read a book with this combo but it definitely worked for me. I was desperate to know how it would all end and despite not being totally surprised, I still say this was worth the read for entertainment value alone.
