"Messy" doesn't even begin to cover this reading experience. And the female characters? They were a special kind of infuriating. The sheer audacity of allowing a friend to constantly badmouth a spouse *in their own home* was jaw-dropping. The mental environment they created for this poor man was suffocating. Honestly, I spent half the book wanting to bang my head against a wall. The relief I felt upon reaching the final page was immense. Never again.
