This book has a highly misleading summary here on Goodreads. It talks about the Antichrist and the possible end of days so one would expect the book to have some kind of a plot. A drama. It doesn't. And I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't been expecting some. To be perfectly honest, I felt pretty bored while reading it until I was about 60% in when I just gave up and didn't expect anything anymore and took it for what it was, not for what it was supposed to be.

It'd a quiet book. It's about feelings, about family, about the life you have and the life that could be. It's about being different and not blending into society. It's about love. If you need something heartwarming, read it. If you crave magical battles, run away.

I had to warm up to characters first and consciously ignore some parts of the writing style I didn't really like (the parallels between ostracized magical creatures and stuff happening in our world were made too obvious for my liking, this way it felt like the book was meant for a younger audience, and some stuff with children felt a little too repetitive), but in the end, I liked it a lot.
