Someone in the Attic by Andrea Mara
2.0

This book is the definition of a slow burn. For better part of the book nothing more than what is written in the blurb happens. Which was so disappointing since it had started off with such promise!

The book takes us through the lives of four women, one of whom died in a tragic accident when they were in their twenties. The other three go on to become super rich by being super girl bosses. None of them are super likeable and I wouldn’t want to meet them in real life.

There is so much detail about the backstories and all the characters and I kept waiting for the whole ‘someone in the attic’ bit to really get good, but it never really does. I wanted to DNF it multiple times during the book but I wanted to know if I was right about who the perp is so I kept reading. It was annoying to find out that I was right, because I had guessed it about a hundred pages in.

It really wasn’t for me.
