I was really disappointed in this one.
I went into it off the high of The Roommate Risk and this just fell short in almost every way. While the characters were decent enough, there was a lot missing by way of a real fleshing out of them as people, which made me disconnect with their plights. The smut also wasnt near as good as TRR and largely didnt make much sense. Theres som implication that he likes kinky stuff and was exposed for it but then we never see him do any of these so called kinky things.
His back story wasnt really fleshed out enough and considering his brother was doing what he was doing, you'd think there'd be more of a fall out.
I dunno, it just didnt work well, the pacing was off and by the 70% mark i was skimming just waiting for it to be over.
The best thing about Talia's writing so far tho is how well she highlights black women. Their hair, their skin, their bodies and how this men worship them for their thiccness and i am hereeee for it!
