This really didn't do it for me. The topic was interesting and I thought the author did a great job of showing how complicated the issue of terrorism truly is, but for some reason it just didn't hold my interest. I really didn't like the writing and felt that it held the characters at arm's length, which made it difficult for me to really care about them in any way. I'm not familiar with Antigone so perhaps I missed aspects of the novel relating to that, but I feel that the book should still be enjoyable without having to know the source material. I spent most of the time whilst reading this book wondering why it bested When I Hit You for the Women's Prize and wishing it would be finished.
