Behind the Pages
by K. Iwancio
"You're going to have to peel back the layers I've hidden behind to discover just what I'm hiding from you."
Paige & Penn..
The two just ooze meant to be by their names right, but are they really?
I was captured from the beginning because I got Paige and everything that she is, right down to her coffee addiction cause I have that same problem!
Being a writer and everything that goes along with it has her in a slump and not a good one when her latest book is due but no words are coming to her, well they are but she's stuck.
Enter the hottie who talked to her at check in of the writers retreat..
Being a reclusive writer has had its disadvantages for Penn, so why not take a much needed break at a retreat from his corporate job where he can get some writing done, hopefully. After having to hide who he is its a breath of fresh air to meet someone who you can be yourself with, the real you. Penn finds himself drawn to Paige in a way that is unexpected and scares him but it doesn't stop him at all.
" A beautiful woman like you really shouldn't have zero clue about romance. It's a crime."
This book is full of banter that just flows between two people who have chemistry but are denying it until that one moment, and when I got there, I knew it was going to change in the best of ways.
Paige & Penn together are off the charts, between her self consciousness and his more forward approach makes for an interesting great story that goes one way that I didn't expect in the end.
A little bit of everything was in this one..
The spice.. phew the spice!!
The sexual tension.. yes please!
The hesitance.. from both sides for completely different reasons.
The humor.. Paige's well placed snorts are what make the humor pop out to me.
That little bit of miscommunication that was hidden in there.. perfect!
and the last thing I wont say because spoilers.. it is what made this book all the more great.
Definitely a good book I would rec especially if you like what I listed above.
