Under My Hijab
by Hena Khan
Age: Toddler-Kindergarten
Various representations of women within one family as they carry on their professions, education, and hobbies while wearing their hijabs, as they do. When the women are home, the hijabs come off and the narrator comments on their hairstyles. There were some clunky sentences but overall a delightful, rhyming read that serves as a mirror and a window.
