I had a craving for an Asian epic and this dropped into my lap somehow. I liked it but I agree with criticisms of many 3 and 4 star reviews...the storytelling could fall flat in places (too much tell, not enough show) and I wanted more character depth, not more characters. The ending was a little long. But overall, very good book, highly recommend.
