I don't feel like I can say so much about this book, without spoiling all the different twists; that's how many there are. There is also a fair amount of digression, which I don't mind, especially for a book that is really about a fictional (steampunk-magical) world. I feel like it's also a good book to discuss. Recommended topics include: use of plot devices (skilled vs clumsy); tropes vs inverted tropes; fantasy world politics; &c.
