Fake It Till You Bake It by Jamie Wesley
1.0

If I hadn't had this as a book club book, I wouldn't have finished it.

Wannabe influencer FMC bad mouths the cupcakes in her BFFs favourite cupcake shop having not even tried one. The owner gives her one to try and despite it being great, she still leaves and is very rude. After turning a slimy guy down on a reality TV show (who the public loves) her rich parents cut her off. Rich grandmother arranges her a job saying she can have access to her trust fund if she works six months. She owns an American Football team and said job is with one of the players - who happens to be the guy from cupcake shop. Minor hijinks ensue.

It's the sort of book which would be a good palate cleanser romance read inbetween other books but the rich girl/trust fund angle mixed with dull characters let's it down.

Furthermore, why add that kind of plot twist in at 90%? It definitely made the book worse.
Adding her leaving and returning in so late 'for herself' mitigates the reason why she was doing so too. He didn't chase her, she broke his heart. But all is okay within a couple of months and pages)?
Sigh.
