After her boyfriend of 18 years unexpectedly leaves her at age 36, Laurie is devastated. When she finds out that he suddenly has a new (and now pregnant) girlfriend after only a couple of months, they become the gossip fodder of the office since, yes, they are both lawyers at the same firm. After another lawyer, young playboy Jamie, gets stuck in an elevator with her, they go out and drunkenly agree to fake date so he can look better to the managing partners for a promotion and she can make her ex jealous. But as we all know, fake feelings only stay fake so long in these types of books! I really enjoyed this book and the author's style--I am also listening to another of her books right now and am likely to read more!
