Southern Sunshine
by Natasha Madison
I absolutely love this entire series and Southern Sunshine is no different. The moment I started reading this one I completely fell in love with it.
Reed always felt like he was in the shadow of his father and his brother growing up and couldn’t wait to get out of town. He wanted to be his own person and to find his reason in life. Hazel grew up with Reed, they were practically neighbors and friends. She grew up with her grandfather. She eventually left town for school and hasn’t looked back. Now, six years later both Reed and Hazel are back in town and face to face after no contact with each other the entire time, but there are plenty of secrets between the two of them.
I loved Hazel. She is hardworking, strong and her love for her daughter, Sofia is strong. She will do anything for her daughter and to make sure her daughter knows she is loved. Sofia is hands down adorable. She is smart, cute and hilarious. I loved Reed a lot, too. He was lost and loved seeing him find himself again throughout this story.
Compared to the previous ones in the series, I felt this was a little lighter but full of all the same love, secrets and emotions. These characters really have you feeling like family.
If you’re looking for a small town, second chance, secret baby romance this is one to read!
