Every now and again I find an epic fantasy novel that hooks me from the very beginning, and Elantris was one of those. I was invested from the start and quickly found that I didn't want to put it down.
As usual with Sanderson, the world building was brilliant and intriguing. The plot was engaging and took twists and turns that I didn't see coming, and I honestly think these are some of the best characters Sanderson has written. Overall the book reminded me more than a bit of Warbreaker, particularly in the way it handled characters and religion, but it also had something very much its own. I loved it.
