After reading Every Heart a Doorway, following Jack and Jill was the perfect way to continue the series. They are a fascinating pair and seeing their childhood was both telling and heartbreaking. While the defects in the parents parenting was heavily described, it set up the "why" behind who the girls become perfectly.
