This book was gifted to me by a friend, and for that I'm very thankful! I tend to stay away from (read: completely avoid) ~romance~ novels, so anything labeled as such stays off my radar. While this book does carry that label, it is not the tradtional boy meets girl, girl experiences no personal growth, and then they live happily ever after story I so vehemently dislike. Damage was dark, obsessive, beautiful, and multidimensional. I found myself racing through the pages, desperate for a conclusion to a doomed affair. I was out of breath by the end, but entirely satisfied. Beautifully written; not a static character in site. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an existential thrill or dark distraction.
