Under the Moon
by Andy Rose
Under the Moon is a collection of supernatural flash fiction. Some of them eerie and several left me wanting to read more of the world we’d glimpsed, each of them with a dark twist. Though, occasionally, these twists were predictable - particularly as all of the stories had a ‘shock’ twist, it became easier to predict them.
For me, some the the stories felt incomplete - I felt as though I was reading a fragment of a much bigger story. As opposed to stories designed to be consumed as flash fiction.
The writing was good, however, and I’d happily read more by Andy Rose. This was my first reading of flash-fiction and I actually really enjoyed it. It’s best to read this book at night, curled up under blankets with your favourite drink in one sitting.
