The sympathy I felt for these two girls growing up with a mother who had a mental illness was overwhelming. What a childhood! I enjoyed the story but it ended quite abruptly. I would have liked more insight on how Wendy's childhood affected her own parenting style. If half stars were available, I would have rated this book 3 1/2 stars.
