Val is a police officer in Chicago, she is full of fire and amazing at what she does. However, a single call while on patrol but her on a little detour for her career. Evan, who is also from Chicago and has ties to the mafia, and his younger sister, Gemma, have made a new home in Montana at Redemption Ranch.

Val and Evan have an instant attraction towards each other. However, their paths have crossed in Chicago and they are from opposite sides of the track. They aren’t meant to be together, yet their chemistry is undeniable, and eventually, they just need to give into that connection they share.

I loved Evan. He may have been involved with the mafia, but learning about his past you realize that he isn’t a bad person, even if he did bad things prior to coming to Redemption Ranch. I love that Val doesn’t just sit down and let people tell her what to do. She is a BA. I love what the two of them bring out in each other. I also love the bond that quickly formed between Val and Gemma.
