Dark torture, a naive heroine with a helluva lot of trauma, shifter mates...it does have the potential to be spectacular. 
I felt like there were chunks of story that were kind of missing though. Also it got waaaaaaay too mushy 3/4 of the way through for something with this much dark torture... I'm gonna try out book 2, but I'm not really holding my breath
