4.5 stars: this book was great and should be a must read! It tackles racism in the workplace in a visceral way and absolutely exposes the "bro culture" of sales (and many other fields). It definitely has The Wolf of Wall Street vibes. Black Buck pokes holes in the "American Dream" highlighting how it's unrealistic and pointing out that we don't all enter the workforce at the same starting point. I love that this books is a fiction novel yet at times also reads as a self-help book. Learn about sales, read abut love and loss, explore systemic inequities, and go on a wild journey of one young man's self discovery. Plus as someone who lives in NYC it's always fun to read a book set in places that I know! Overall I would wholeheartedly recommend reading this book!
