was good until ending. TW for rape. also entire review is spoilers

why did ido get a redemption arc... he was like 2 seconds from raping eon and then Eon blasts some magic at him that makes him compassionate. literally he starts cryin "omg im such bad person" ??? and then to learn that hes a love interest in the sequel after he was, again, about to fucking rape her, he was literally ripping her clothes off right before she magicks him

also i dont like eona getting healed at the end. throughout whole book she learns to live with her disability and its cool to see how she can figure out how to do things from mundane to fighting with a bad leg. then at the end she connects with her dragon and it magically heals her leg. and then, and i QUOTE:
"“What is it?” Lady Dela asked. “Are you injured?”
“No,” I said. “My hip is healed!” I ran my hand down the smooth line of
my thigh again.
“Healed? By your dragon power?”
I nodded, meeting her wonder. I was free. No longer a cripple. No longer
untouchable. I was strong and powerful."
