3.5 stars, i felt the pacing was off and lark’s character could’ve been explored more. it felt like she was a little flat. The lack of chemistry btwn the lark and lachlan also detracted from the score. There was such a lack of banter and that's what I really liked about the first book. I wish the characters showed how much they care about each other instead of just monologuing and telling me. tbh i hated the villain… i will be reading the third book
