When I first saw this series (the first 3 books) at B&N's I suspected that it would somehow connect to Harry Potter and his way of magic. After all, Nicholas Flamel is the wizard who owned the Sorcerer's Stone in book 1. So I was expecting Flamel to have a wand just like how Harry and his magical peeps have.

But as I've started reading this, it's perfectly clear that Nicholas Flamel doesn't hail from Harry's world. For one, they don't have wands. The other dead give away was that Flamel lives in San Francisco, Ca. Not England.

I like this story though. It's quite intriguing.
