I really wanted to like this, but I just couldn’t. Aiden is the only reason I even added the second star, he tried to be open and to communicate, but Maddie only gave him reactions in return that she thought he wanted. That’s not how a relationship works. Maddie acts like the world revolves around her, and it’s so annoying! Aiden made all the steps in their relationship, and she gets mad when he does exactly what she tells him even if she wants something else. He’s not a mind reader!! But she clearly thinks he is. Not that he’s perfect either. The big romantic moment where he realises he can’t live without her, quits his dream job and flies back to her only made me mad at him too. Maybe in part because I don’t like Maddie, but also because quitting dream jobs for someone else is NOT something to do without a conversation about it. The epilogue redeemed him a little bit, since he got his job back, but that was too little too late at that point.
