When Rusty buys a new home from an old man named Wayne, he didn't expect to be left with the responsibility of feeding Mouth, a hole in the ground with sharp teeth. Abigail, a 19-year-old runaway who works at a pet store, becomes suspicious and curious about the number of times Rusty shows up to buy mice for his "snake" and decides to spy on Rusty to see what he's actually up to with the mice. Despite the horrific deaths in this novella, it is a pretty wholesome story of found family and embracing what makes us different. Also like many other stories, it shows that it's often humans who are more monstrous than any non-human creatures. Anyone who is a fan of movies/books like Frankenstein, The Blob, and Tremors will most likely enjoy this weird book.
