I liked what this book was attempting to do, and liked the world the author created. The symbolism and allegory infused into the story was interesting, too. This pacing bothered me, and the ending was let almost too unclear (even knowing there was a sequel on the way). I might pick up the second book but I don't feel a rush to, even tough I do like the author's vision for the series.
