This was a really enjoyable slow burn dystopian. I loved the setting and the culture really makes the book shine.
We watch the day to day life of the Anishinaabe tribe as they are slowly consumed by the panic of the “apocalypse”. Heads up, you never find out what’s actually happening so if that will bother you, I wouldn’t recommend it. I personally really liked that aspect and the ending, as the heart of this book is it’s characters and culture.
