Ruined Hopes
by L.A. Cotton
Ezra has always felt like he didn’t belong and he had walls up to protect himself from everyone. Ashleigh was surrounded by her friends and family, but she is always caring and wants to help. The moment she met Ezra she was drawn to him, she wanted to know him and she wanted to be there for him. Until one single accident changes everything.
I love that this story went between the past and the present. I loved getting to see more of the past when it came to Ezra and Ashleigh’s story, but also to see where they are now. Their story as individuals is an emotional one and their story together is equally as emotional.
The connection between Ezra and Ashleigh has been there from the start, even when Ezra is pushing her away and trying to fight everything. I felt for these two. Ashleigh not being able to remember the last 10 months of her life and the struggles she is going through. Despite it all, I love that she takes everything in stride. Ezra, you can’t help but one to give him a hug for everything that he has experienced throughout this life.
This story was an emotional journey but beautiful and the slow burn was completely worth the wait.
If you’re looking for an enemies to lovers, slow burn this is one to read.
