This was a slower story to get into compared to the first one. But I don't know if that is due to me and my headspace at the moment, or not.

I just felt that the character dynamics weren't as strong as in the first one, I also love the game of Warcross and as it isn't featured as predominantly in this story, I just didn't fall into it as deeply as before.

I did find the ending very moving and I think the full circle moment was very satisfying.
