This is the best children's book I have read in a long while! The plot is elegantly constructed and full of suspense. The characters are complex and growing throughout the book. The entire underworld the author creates is just bizarre enough to make one curious and gasp in wonder and amaze, but with familiar themes and situations that make one feel connected to the characters. The writing style is exquisite and has a perfect blend of the strange and familiar.
