Paint Me Some Love by Julia Vellucci
5.0

I was hooked from the tagline (“People say a picture can paint a thousand words yet a painting still caused her thousands of tears until she met him.”). Wow...

Julia Vellucci weaves an intricate, captivating, and deep plot of self-love and finding platonic love in only nine chapters.

I empathized with the characters and there was never a dull moment, but at the same time Vellucci didn’t compromise the development and worldbuilding for the sake of speed.

I would also like to say that at 18 writing such a beautiful tale is such an achievement and I admire Vellucci for doing this. Whether intentionally or not, Vellucci is breaking the stereotype that young people can’t write good books and, being a couple years younger than her, I aim to follow in her footsteps of breaking this stereotype.

Okay, back to the review. I have to say when Lauren was put into the painting I was a little confused but I got over it quickly because the story that came after it made me completely forget that I was confused in the first place.

Paint Me Some Love is a really fast read that I really enjoyed and I will talk about at any given chance. I would recommend it to people who enjoy realistic fiction with a magical twist, feel-good books, and books with a different take on what love is.
