The audio was fantastic! The story really came to life with George Guidall’s narration. It’s a little longer than the typical audiobook, but it’s worth it.

The Golem and the Jinni is partly historical fiction set in NYC, with alternating timelines between the FMC (golem) and MMC (jinni), it’s mysterious but I wouldn’t call it a mystery, it’s fantasy but more magical realism, add some found family elements, plus themes of identity and ambition, with just a smidge of horror. It’s one of those books that almost can’t be categorized, and I’m discovering that those are the books that really stick with me, with writers who are doing something totally original and of their own.
