An amazing, accessible historical fiction tale for middle grade kids. If they like reading about a character who overcomes extreme challenges with love and personality this is the book for them to try. This would be such a great classroom read or book circle title. The ties to World War II will also pull kids in. I can’t wait to read the sequel!
