This book was absolutely adorable! From their unforgettable first meeting to the heartwarming way he finally wins her over, I was kicking my feet the entire time. It’s a classic grumpy-sunshine, slow-burn romance, and totally worth the wait. Lucy and Aiden’s banter is easily some of the best I’ve read, sharp and funny while still carrying real emotional weight.
Aiden’s backstory, particularly around his mom’s cancer, hit close to home. His emotional journey and how he navigates those feelings felt deeply personal and unexpectedly validating. I wasn’t ready to feel so seen, but it was comforting to read about a character dealing with something so familiar.
This book reminded me why contemporary romance is worth picking up, it has heart, humor, and a couple you can’t help but root for.
