ahc 's review for:
Morning in the Burned House
by Margaret Atwood
"does my twisting body spell out Grace?"
The first half of this book was so boring that I was actually excited to get back to working on my essay. As with all poetry, it could just be a case of me missing the point. However, most of the writing in the first half of the book feels very contrived.
The reason for the two stars is solely due to Section 4 of the book. Here, Atwood's writing is entirely different and infinitely more genuine. It was a beautiful 15 pages or so, but ultimately this book was a letdown.
