The Legend of Korra: Ruins of the Empire, Part Three
by Michael Dante DiMartino
I like the comics because I get to see a bit more of the Avatar world with the characters I adore. Usually, I feel like the Avatar comics have a good commentary on the real world. And I like reading about these interpretations and how it will hopefully inspire younger generations about peace and justice.
However, the ending of Ruins of the Empire was not as satisfying for me.
That being said it is an okay comic. I will probably always enjoy them due to nostalgia and I don't mind that at all.

I would have liked more background on Kuvira growing up with the Beifongs. I felt like the ending glossed over that. I also feel like the treatment Kuvira got was a too nice, too happy ending. She still got a punishment but it is basically house arrest while she was the leader of a movement that caused a lot of misery. That being said it is an okay comic.
