The Snow Goose is a strange little fairy tale set in England during World War II. Philip Rhayader is a reclusive painter living on the Essex coast when a shy wild girl brings him a wounded bird in her arms. Their story grows slowly to a climax at the battle of Dunkirk. A very small story, sad and beautifully written.
