These characters are just not it for me. I was not connected to them at all, they annoyed me throughout the book. They both kept saying how much they wanted to/should be focusing on their career/dream but they just couldn't pull theirself away from the other one.
Daniel kept feeling such guilt for lying and "betraying" Samiya and yet that's his job. He should know that subterfuge is a necessary part and shouldn't feel guilt OR if it's going to be too hard talk to his boss about getting her in on the hunt for the money launderers. It just felt way over the top for him to feel so bad about lying to her and "betraying her" when they only knew each other less than 3 months and it was all surrounding a very important sting.
