Haru wishes he could fly so that he could explore the world, and he also wishes the other birds at school didn’t laugh at him all the time. But his best friend Yama encourages him to still be himself. One day they find a cursed stone that always returns, and they are told they must travel to The Beacon to find answers. But there is something in the dark that is looking for it and looking for them. What will their journey bring?

A super cute mid-grade graphic novel about being oneself, exploring the world, and friendship. It’s very mid-grade in that it’s a little jumpy at times and the dialog is very basic, but it’s very cute. It leaves off on a major cliff hanger, so looking forward to seeing where it goes next.
