Pretty Boy
by K.M. Neuhold
Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below.
He’s going to have to learn that being with me means letting me treat him like the treasure he is.
I finally got around to restarting and finishing this book and I’m so glad I did. There’s little I enjoy more than a sad and hurting boy being taken care of and comforted by a sweet daddy character, and that’s this book to a T. It made me tear up a lot because I just hurt so much for Sterling.
It’s not a very complicated story, but it fit my mood really well when I read it.
“You’re strong and feisty and independent. I don’t want to take care of you because you can’t do it yourself. I want to take care of you because you deserve it.”

“Dreams are a real good way of getting your heart broken,” I tell him honestly. I gave up dreaming a long time ago. It’s safer that way.
His eyes widen and a quiet whimper falls from his lips. “I ain’t never seen a naked man in real life,” he confesses in a raspy voice. “And I think you mighta just gone and ruined me for anyone else.”
I know he won’t keep me, but I think it’s okay if I pretend for a little while that he might. It won’t hurt nothing but my own heart, and I learned a long time ago that my heart can take a lot.
