No one who knows me IRL will be surprised to learn that this book made me cry. I think it is a very realistic yet hopeful look at what it is to be a fat girl in this country. I appreciated the conversations about bullying from family members as well as the conversation about how sometimes bullies can also be bullied. I liked the friendships, I liked the growth, I liked the poetry, I liked everything about it. It was hard to read because it spoke a little too loudly for me but overall I really liked it. I'd have loved to have had this as a child who was fat and who was often made fun of. If I could give this book and a hug to every young person who has ever felt less than because of their size I would.
