"Carnage" by Shantel Tessier is a dark standalone romance novel set in the world of the Lords, a secret society where powerful men have sold their souls to the devil in exchange for power and wealth. The story revolves around the Spade brothers, who run Carnage, a place where Lords who have not upheld their oaths live out their lives in bondage, isolated from the outside world.
The book is about Ashtyn who once belonged to a Lord named Saint Beckham Carter. She willingly pledged herself to him and became involved with his "brothers," but as time passed, her situation deteriorated. Fearing the worst, she fled from Saint and his world, hoping to escape her grim fate. However, her escape is short-lived as Saint tracks her down and brings her back to Carnage, where he intends to make her his pet.
The novel explores themes of power, control, and the consequences of one's choices. It delves into a dark and complex relationship between Ashtyn and Saint, who is portrayed as a ruthless and unrelenting character. The story is filled with tension and drama as Ashtyn navigates the treacherous world of the Lords and her struggle for freedom.
The writing style is engaging and immersive, creating a vivid picture of the dark and gritty world in which the story is set. The characters are well-developed, and their motivations and actions are explored in depth. The story is full of suspense and intrigue, making it a compelling read for fans of dark romance.
However, it's important to note that "Carnage" contains explicit and mature content, including elements of BDSM and non-consensual situations, which may not be suitable for all readers. The book is intended for a mature audience who enjoys dark romance and is comfortable with its themes and content.
This was 🥵 and if I could give 10/10 I would! I absolutely loved this book! This series is amazing and not for the faint hearted. Shantel Tessier has done it again.
