The Hookup Handbook

The Hookup Handbook is a sexy, fun contemporary romance that I *may* have finished in one sitting!
You get angst, chemistry, sprinkles or humor, and characters worth swooning over! Told in the dual POVs of our main characters, Case and Sienna, this book flows in the easy manner that readers have come to know from Kendall.
The Hookup Handbook is the second book in the Escort, Inc. series — a series of standalones. Readers met Case in the first book, Boyfriend for Hire. Case comes off a bit…rough…at the beginning of this book. I know from reading the first book that he really is a good guy, though. He runs his own successful male escort business where he is one of the busiest escorts. In addition, he is thirty days away from a deadline for the book he is supposed to be writing about sex and intimacy, but he is on the struggle bus with that. As the story progresses, and with the help of the heroine, you get to see the good in Case reemerge.
Sienna is the awkward, slightly nerdy little sister of Case’s best buddy, Ryder, and she is trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. She is helping around the office of the escort service for the summer, and she and Case don’t exactly hit it off well to begin.
I wouldn’t call this an angsty story, but there is definitely angst present which lends to a bit of a slow burn. You get that touch of forbidden romance with Sienna being Case’s best friend’s younger sibling, but I think that only adds to the chemistry. By the way, the chemistry is off the charts, and the tension and banter is so great! Case and Sienna end up helping each other in more ways than they realize. Case is more thoughtful than you’d expect, but it helps Sienna gain some confidence that she is lacking. And Sienna helps give Case a bit of perspective on his life. I just love these two together!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, as I do every Kendall Ryan book! It’s such a good combination of steamy and sweet! I do wish it was a little longer, because I would have loved to see more of Case and Sienna as “Case and Sienna.”
