I’ll admit, this started off as a slow read for me. I put it down time & time again. Kept trying between other books. & then... & then it felt like the journey my soul needed to go on. For me, this is the definition of a second half book. The whole second half I was infinitely more invested. I read faster & faster. & THAT ENDING. Be still my heart. The writing is beautiful. There is no doubt in my mind the V.E. Schwab is a phenomenal author. Truly an artist. It’s been a long time since I’ve highlighted so many lines in one book. It was a book of silent tears & glasses of wine & living through many lives. If you love words & stars & dreams & darkness this one’s for you.
