Rating: 2.5 stars (I'm 50/50 here)

I think if I'd read these when I was younger, I would have loved these a lot more than I did now. As a kid's book, this is incredible, with important moral ideas and an interesting world. As an adult, I found the religious imagery extremely heavy handed (Aslan is Jesus, I get it okay I get itttt) and there were dashes of 50's sexism that I found really hard to ignore.

It wasn't a bad book by any stretch of the imagination, but I can't say I'm particularly excited to read the remaining six books, even if they are classics. It's a short review mostly because I didn't love it or hate it. I just felt meh about this one.
