So, these orc books have me in an absolute chokehold. They’re spicy, intense, funny, sweet, and I never know what is going to happen next! Simon’s book was no exception.

We met him in a couple of the previous books, and he comes off as a headstrong brute. But what I found out in this book is that he is the epitome of “looks like could k!ll you, is a cinnamon roll”. He is a big, scary dude, but he really just wants what is best for his kin so they can live peacefully and safely. When Maria shows up, she throws his whole life into chaos in the best and worst ways.

I loved Maria because she is an Anxiety Girlie like myself, but she is also very brave and headstrong. She is also utterly helpless to Simon’s dubious charms which…same tbh. I loved this book. It was spicy AND an emotional rollercoaster, which is what I adore about this whole series. Who knew orc books could make me cry so much?!
